The Ocean City Fishing Club over the years - 1995 to 2021. The Ocean City Fishing Club of New Jersey is the oldest continuous operating fishing club in the country. Started in 1913, members have landed many fish over the years and have made many great friendships. Some of the tournaments members have participed in include Association of Surf Angling Clubs (ASAC), both local and away, and the Cape Hatteras (NC) Surf Fishing Tournaments. Club members support and enjoy the sport of fishing and have held many activities over the years and which include the Pot Luck Dinners, 4th of July Parties, Ladies Social (Lasagna Dinners), Boys and Girls Fishing Tournaments, Club Open Houses on the pier, Shoobie Parties, and our annual end-of-year Christmas Party at the Crab Trap. Recently the membership voted to extend our pier from the boardwalk from 645.7 feet to 759 Feet. This extension will enable us to catch more fish. Adding this 113.6 feet of new pier provides more water in which to fish in the Atlantic Ocean during all tides. Below are some pictures of our Club from 1995 to the 2021. Hopefully these pictures will bring back memories. A picture of our completed entended pier from a drone is spectacular.
On Saturday, June 5th 2021 we had a formal ribbon cutting ceremony to officallly celibrate the opening of our new extended fishing pier.
